Red-Hot Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings rout the streaking Meralco Bolts 89-76


The inspired Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings started the game with a mission as they jumped-in with an early lead and never turn back to defeat the streaking Meralco Bolts 89-76 at the start of the Semifinal series in PBA Governor's Cup. 

Siot and Ginebra relied on their defense and bench scoring to outmatch the streaking Bolts, Kerby Raymundo and Allein Maliksi teamed-up for the locals as they contributed 16 and 13 respectively. Raymundo also garnered 13 boards and shot 8-of-12 from the field. 

“We made a conscious effort on limiting their turnover and fastbreak points. They’re the No.1 team in terms of turnover points and fast breaks,” said Tanquingcen, who said winning two straight games was not the focus of his team.

“That’s far from my mind. Our main focus was to have a good start in the semis because dikit-dikit halos yung mga teams, except fo Rain or Shine.” said Tanquincen.

The Ageless Center Asi Taulava contributed 17 points while import Mario West fired-in 22 points.
