The Boosters were able to piled-up their points since the start the of the tip-off prior to the contribution of their locals led by Joseph Yeo and Arwind Santos. Petron were able to held the Painters to just 39 poinst which grew by as much as 23 points just before the half-time.
New Import Marcus Faison contributed early in the game with 11 points and 4 boards in the first half and showed some glimps of greatness in his game despite being not that explosive compared to Eddie Basden.
In the second half, Yeng Guiao and the rest of the Elasto Painters were able to regain their focus as they fired in 23 points in the third quarter and were able to trim the lead to just 10 points. Rain or Shine continued their barraged in the four quarter and held Petron to just 16 points and almost lose the game after the turnover from Arwind Santos.
Petron used their supremacy in the rebounding department as they salvaged a hard-fought game to start their Semifinal campaign. “The important thing is hindi nawala yung energy namin and we showed that on our rebounding. We dominated them pagdating sa rebounds,” said Agustin.
Marcus Faison paced the Booster with 20 points followed by Yeo with 14 while the Painters were led by Cornley's 36 points and Paul Leed with 15.
